Head of Financial Control

Salary: £65-90k plus excellent benefits

Hanslope Park, Milton Keynes

Find a role that means more, for you and for the nation. When you join FCO Services, you’ll be part of a global business that works to defend the UK’s interests around the world. We do that by providing mission-critical services to all kinds of government-level customers, offering everything from embassy construction to secure tech solutions that keep a nation’s data safe.

It’s complex work across a worldwide network, but no matter the scope of the projects we work on, it’s vital that we maintain our operational excellence. It’s what helps us serve our customers and protect national security. And maintaining those high standards is where you come in.

As our new Head of Financial Control, you’ll help grow our newly restructured Business Services group comprised of HR, Finance, Procurement & Supply Chain, together, these essential services work to ensure the smooth running of our whole business, reducing costs, improving efficiency, and finding new and innovative ways to deliver our services.

Foster growth that stretches round the world

FCO Services is a growing, thriving business – and our new Head of Financial Control should have the right attitude to help us continue that trend. Ultimately, you understand that control isn’t about restriction or obstacles; it’s about creating growth in the right direction. You’ll make sure our financial and reporting obligations are met, but you’ll also think about how we can improve. You aren’t tied down to particular ways of working, but rather, you take a lead role in advising our executives and board on how we could be more efficient, more driven, and more pro-active when it comes to our future.

Impart expertise on an international scale

Yours is a vital role in the development of FCO Services, so it stands to reason that you’ll need to be exceptionally well-qualified. As well as being a chartered or certified accountant, you’ll bring at least five years of experience to the table. In consolidating our financial reports, and in everything from forecasting to accounts to planning, you’ll bring unparalleled levels of accuracy, numeracy and analytical acumen. And most critically of all, you’ll be able to impart that kind of skill to your teams, working to build their experience and capability every day.

Use your passion for people to protect populations

You’ll develop your teams well, because fundamentally, you’re a people person. This isn’t just about the finances for you. It’s about taking a genuine interest in our organisation, seeing the wider picture, and supporting every team in every way you can. Whether you’re improving our reporting capability or monitoring our business performance, you’re always thinking about how to make our work better and smarter for our teams – and for our customers. You help us deliver together in a changing world, and in doing so, you’ll help protect people, assets and information, every day.

All our employees have to be security cleared to the highest level, so you will need to undergo a comprehensive vetting process before joining.

Closing date: 04 June 2017 at midnight

It takes a difference to make a difference.  Protecting our customers’ physical assets, data, and people right around the world.  That’s the job, and it takes all kinds of different people to do it.  People with different talents, different ideas and different ways of looking at the world.  That diversity is what makes FCO Services such an inspiring organisation to be part of.  And it’s why, if you want to make a difference here, you’ll need to bring something different too.
