Head of Strategic Delivery – two year fixed term contract

Salary: £55 - 70K plus excellent benefits

Hanslope Park, Milton Keynes

Find a role that means more, for you and for the nation. When you join FCO Services, you’ll be part of a global business that works to defend the UK’s interests around the world. We do that by providing mission-critical services to all kinds of government-level customers, offering everything from embassy construction to secure tech solutions that keep a nation’s data safe.

It’s complex work across a global network, but no matter the scope of the projects we work on, it’s vital that we maintain our operational excellence. It’s what helps us serve our customers and protect national security. And maintaining those high standards is where you come in.

As our new Head of Strategic Delivery, you’ll drive change for our newly restructured Business Services group; one of three core groups, comprising HR, Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, Governance, Risk, and Business Process Improvement. Together, these essential services work to ensure the smooth running of our whole business, reducing costs, improving efficiency, and finding new and innovative ways to deliver our services.

Rise to the challenge of our unique proposition

As a trading fund, FCO Services is powered entirely by the funds we make from delivering our service. It’s a unique proposition, making us both commercial and governmental at the same time. But to be able to continue to provide the highest quality service, we have to keep expanding our offering, looking at new and more efficient ways of doing business. Working across departments, you’ll be in charge of spearheading that change, identifying and driving business transformation projects. This unusual challenge needs a truly innovative mind, and you’ll be capable of spotting opportunities to improve, wherever they might be.

Bring stability and smooth the way for global projects

These are exciting times as we restructure and streamline our business, but with so much change on the cards, you’ll need to bring the experience to guide our teams through it. You’ll be a deft hand in implementing business change for us – developing a new ERP system, for instance – but you’ll also be a steady presence when it comes to coaching everyone through those changes. Your end goal is never just delivering each transformation project to time and on budget. It’s also about creating the smoothest possible experience for our teams – not to mention our customers.

Use your passion for people to protect populations

You want to support our teams through change, because fundamentally, you’re a people person. You aren’t just focussed on change for its own sake. It’s about taking a genuine interest in our organisation, seeing the wider picture, and making things better for individuals. Whether you’re bringing key stakeholders together on a project or building more productive business relationships, you’re always thinking about how to make our work better and smarter for our teams, and for our customers. You’ll help us deliver together in a changing world, and in doing so, you’ll help protect people, assets and information, every day.

All our employees have to be security cleared to the highest level, so you will need to undergo a comprehensive vetting process before joining.

Closing date: 04 June 2017 at midnight.

It takes a difference to make a difference.  Protecting our customers’ physical assets, data, and people right around the world.  That’s the job, and it takes all kinds of different people to do it.  People with different talents, different ideas and different ways of looking at the world.  That diversity is what makes FCO Services such an inspiring organisation to be part of.  And it’s why, if you want to make a difference here, you’ll need to bring something different too.
