Our Client is a prestigious, market-leading and highly-developed real estate asset management arm of a larger firm with £multi-billion worth of assets under management and a global presence. The company are seeking an Associate Director - Operations, to join their successful team in the capacity of oversight of investor related operations for their European funds under management. This Associate Director will be involved directly with the coordination of the operational set up of new real estate funds alongside providing support to the wider Operations team.

 

The Role will entail:

  • Overseeing and managing investor related operations for the company.
  • Overseeing the operations of the internal captive real estate funds (Life, Annuity, and unit linked funds).
  • Managing the end to end fund operating model and fund operations for the real estate funds and their associated structures.
  • Ensuring operational processes are effective, are documented, well controlled and are being delivered to an appropriate standard.
  • Providing effective oversight and management of relationships with external service suppliers establishing, monitoring and reporting on service level agreements.
  • Co-ordinating the interactions between clients including arrangements for moving funding between entities in both directions, and corresponding investor flows.
  • Co-ordinating the operational set up and due diligence of new real estate funds and non-standard structures, including segregated mandates.
  • Maintaining Fund Operations Sharepoint site, ensuring all documentation is up to date and accurate.
  • Ensuring the continuous improvement of all Fund Operations processes.
  • Managing the control environment of applications, drawdowns, redemptions, secondary trades / transfers, conversions, distributions and vintage management.
  • Maintaining the internal shadow unit / shareholder registry and associated record keeping checks on fund performance.
  • Providing support to the wider Operations team in planning, developing and implementing the operational strategy and ensuring effective, efficient and integrated operational platforms and processes are in place (and periodically reviewed) to support business areas and their operational activities.
  • Reporting of the above to governing Boards and relevant committees.

 

 

The Person: The successful Associate Director for Operations will have experience in enhancing operational processes and controlling operational risks within a business within a similar role and business. The candidate MUST have excellent fund knowledge and experience including regulatory awareness and knowledge. Additionally, they must have solid experience within a financial services environment and strong numeracy skills. Ideally, the candidate will come from an accounting background or have an accounting qualification. The successful candidate will have excellent client relation skills and must be confident, presentable and very client-facing. Finally, the incoming Associate Director will have experience within the commercial property arena.
