Chief Financial Officer

A unique opportunity exists for wealth creation via the role of Group CFO of our client, a well-established private equity and real estate-focused investment firm.

With a number of portfolio companies under management and a strategy to significantly grow the real estate portfolio, this organisation requires a talented, ambitious and commercial CFO who will be able to drive performance and enhance the value of all operations.

The CFO will operate as the right-hand person to the Chairman of the group, a trusted advisor and effective COO for the organisation. 

This is a role with three core areas of focus:

One aspect of the CFO's role will be to work closely with the management teams of the portfolio companies to monitor and help improve performance, particularly with regards to transactions e.g. M&A and also to manage the prospective IPO of a portfolio business with significant revenue. 

For this component of the role, transaction experience is preferred and previous private equity experience is an advantage whilst the experience of working commercially/operationally within a business as a CFO is important. 

A second key aspect of this role is the responsibility of the CFO to lead on the development of the real estate portfolio, growing it from a current value of £ tens of millions through to £ hundreds of millions, operating as the COO for real estate and working with advisors to ensure targeted growth. 

Real estate experience gained either in sector a related sector e.g. retail /leisure, is preferable for this facet of the CFO's role.

The final component of the role is the management of all the financial responsibilities for the fund including ensuring tax efficient structures and timely, accurate statutory filings. 

Previous experience of working within fund accounting/management is desirable.

Our client is relatively open to the profile of CFO who is hired and is equally amenable to younger CFOs who would be looking to take a big step ahead in their careers as well as experienced CFOs who are looking to take on the challenge of a broad finance and business leadership role.

You will be a CFO who has recently operated within a hands-on role, ideally in a smaller business, but also have the operational and commercial capability to help manage a portfolio of companies, execute transactions and help develop a successful real estate portfolio. 

This CFO will be granted a high-level of equity incentives which would ensure very lucrative awards and the package would be structured around the individual.
