Financial Controller

A leading FMCG business is looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join their office in Hounslow.  The company need a proactive, hands-on individual to provide the site management team with clear, timely and accurate financial analysis and insight to support operational and strategic decision making.  Reporting to the General Manager, the successful candidate will form part of the senior management team to develop and support the implementation of an integrated site strategy, operational action plan and staff motivation and development programme. 

Key responsibilities include;

• Managing the Finance Team to ensure that financial information is provided in a clear, timely and accurate manner to support and influence decision-making and satisfy group reporting requirements
• Working closely with managers and staff at all levels to ensure that day-to-day information requirements are satisfied and that financial and business processes, systems and controls are observed and functioning efficiently across the site
• Effectively manage the finance department focusing on day-to-day improvement
• Developing the skills of the finance team that will allow prompt responses to both Site and Head Office financial matters
• Developing effective cross-functional working relationships at all levels both within the site and throughout the business
• Influencing operational and strategic decision making at senior manager level
• Implementation of cost cutting opportunities 
• Ensuring both internal and outsourced accounting practices are undertaken in a manner that enables the site to meet the standards as set out in the company guidelines
• Coordinating and integrating business led system changes 
• Delivering a robust financial budget and forecast, generating weekly and monthly plans and reports to aim the senior team to meet requirements 

To be considered for this role, you will need to meet the following criteria;

• Qualified accountant preferably experience in a manufacturing or FMCG environment 
• Strong analytical ability and IT and systems literate
• Experienced in production of detailed budgets, forecasts, variance analysis and capital expenditure approval
• Experienced within food, FMCG or process based business
