My client is an innovative technology company in Newbury. They are currently seeking an experienced Accountant to join their Finance team on a permanent basis.

The successful candidate will have responsibility for supporting the accounts payable, banking and month end processes, UK&I statutory reporting activities and supporting regional accounts receivable activities.

 

As part of a busy Finance function you must be able to work independently but also display a Team-centric attitude and be willing to collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders locally, nationally and globally.

 

Accuracy and attention to detail is key with this job. You will need to demonstrate your passion to think analytically and produce, reconcile, review & present financial information as part of a team, to ensure timely reporting deadlines are maintained.

 

Responsibilities :

 

  • Statutory reporting of Uk & Ireland
  • Assist with the completion of the month end close
  • Managing and reconciling accruals & prepayments
  • Intercompany accounting
  • Review of P&L and Balance Sheet
  • Budgeting & forecasting
  • Calculation, reporting and payment VAT monthly
  • Manage Corporation Tax calculations and payments
  • Payroll
  • Oversight of Accounts Payable
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Work as a business partner with key stakeholders
  • Prepare financial reports for both internal and external use
  • Establish, implement, improve and communicate policies, processes and controls to ensure that the requirements for financial control and reporting are met
  • Act as a key contact for external auditors and respond to requests in order to fulfil audit requirements
  • Ensure good financial controls and compliance with (UK GAAP) accounting procedures to satisfy audit requirements
  • Some travel may be required as part of this role

 

 

Person Specification :

 

  • Newly Qualified accountant or Finalist or similar level by experience
  • Experience of UK&I Statutory Reporting
  • Strong technical accounting background
  • Knowledge SOX compliance
  • Experience of budgeting, forecasting and analysis of financial information
  • Robust character with ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience of using Oracle
