Axon Moore are representing a City Centre client who are looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant / Reconciliations Clerk for a temp to perm opportunity within their Treasury team.
Duties:
Ideally you will already possess an Accountancy qualification or have extensive experience of working within a Treasury department and the ability to perform bank reconciliations.
Duties:
- Provide financial information and support to stakeholders
- Take ownership of cash and banking operations
- Ensure internal controls are adequately maintained
- Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and accounting standards / practice
- Work closely with the Finance Team to ensure timely processing and approval of payments
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing cash and banking operations
- Completing monthly balance sheet reconciliations for all treasury related items, ensuring reconciling items are cleared on a timely basis
- Production of the daily bank reconciliations
- Production of daily cash reports
- Responsible for ensuring all bank and cash transactions are recorded
- Processing all types of payment requests to deadlines
- Processing payments via the on-line banking system to deadlines
- Updating and maintaining banking mandates
- Regular review of direct debits/standing orders and on-line banking template
- Investigate banking transactions
- Dealing with the bank, on any related queries
- Train and develop junior member of staff within the team
- Maintenance of controls in accordance with financial processes and procedures
- Liaise with the Finance team to ensure timely and effective approval of payments
- Liaise with SSC on processing of transactions on the financial system and provide necessary support
- Route and resolve requests through central email account in a timely basis
Ideally you will already possess an Accountancy qualification or have extensive experience of working within a Treasury department and the ability to perform bank reconciliations.
- AAT qualified or part qualified or have some form of Bookkeeping qualification
- Technically competent and well versed in double entry bookkeeping and bank reconciliations
- Intermediate excel skills.
- Ability to organise own workload and to reprioritise at short notice to meet deadlines.
