VAT Accountant / Specialist

The role of Finance VAT Specialist sits at the heart of the tax function. Supporting the Indirect Tax Manager in provision of returns to HMRC. Improving processes and systems functionality to reduce the effort required to prepare these returns. Investigating issues raised by the business / HMRC with the support of the Indirect Tax Manager.


What will I be doing?
Providing support to the Indirect Tax Manager for completion of compliance requirements for submission to Tax Authorities of: Value Added Tax, Insurance Premium Tax, Any other Indirect Taxes that may arise
Providing support to the Indirect Tax Manager for Tax enquiries of:From/to Tax Authorities, From/to Internal departments, From/to any other external bodies
Providing (where applicable) SAP support for any of the above including improving existing processes
Providing month end financial support to Central Finance for any of the above
Investigating issues raised by the business under the supervision of the Indirect Tax Manager (Tax project work)

What do I need?
Knowledge of SAP
Knowledge of VAT and /or IPT would be beneficial (but not essential)
Education and Qualifications:
Accounting qualification beneficial (but not essential if other experience of accounting)
