Excellent opportunity for an ACA Qualified Accountant to join a high growth business in a newly created role based in Manchester City Centre. Reporting directly to an impressive ACA Qualified Finance Director the successful applicant will be responsible for the financial management of a portfolio of projects. You will be joining the business as a Management Accountant in a very varied role with a lot of exposure in the organisation.
This is a great opportunity for a 1st time mover as the role offers a nice blend across both Management and Financial Accounting. Given the growth of the business to date it is also envisaged that you will be in a position to hire an Accounts Assistant to support you within the 1st year. Duties include but are not limited to;
- Presentation of finance reports to shareholders at quarterly project board meetings
- Tracking and complying with project deliverables as dictated by loan facility agreements
- Maintenance of financial and operating models and preparation of budgets and cash flow forecasts
- Preparation of management accounts reports including analysis of actual versus budget
- Incorporation of purchase ledgers, sales ledgers, cash books and loan schedules
- Maintenance of accruals & prepayments and amortisation workings as applicable
- Preparation and submission of VAT and CIS returns
- Preparation of purchase invoice payments and sales invoices and maintenance of ledgers
- Maintenance of cash books and loan schedules
- Preparation of the statutory accounts for the year end audit
- Preparation of supporting documentation and working papers for the year end audit
- Liaising with the audit team during their fieldwork
- Liaising with tax advisors in the preparation of corporation tax computations
The successful applicant will benefit from a competitive basic salary, excellent bonus scheme and pension as well as the opportunity to progress within the organisation. You will be an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills to facilitate effective working relationships within the finance team and with the various external stakeholders including lenders, shareholders, suppliers and operations. You will have strong analytical skills with intellect to both develop and challenge explanations and arguments. Working knowledge of FRS 102 and statutory accounts preparation is advantageous.
