The Opportunity
Our client is a private equity backed business services company. The business provides services to a wide variety of customers with an emphasis on e-commerce. They have grown organically over the last five years experiencing double digit growth.
With a turnover of £50m per annum and with recent private equity investment the Board are looking to aggressively grow the business in the next 3-5 year period. This is an excellent opportunity for a high quality ACA to join the organisation in a newly created role.
The Role
The role has full responsibility for all financial management for the business, systems development and team management. There will also be a supporting role to the CFO on wider commercial issues and growth plans. This includes:
- Producing management accounts and KPIs
- Managing the Group’s finance function including consolidations
- Producing cash flows and reporting across the Group.
- Responsible for the implementation and improvement of financial systems and controls, integration of finance processes
- Provide expertise, experience and potential to the Group team and be able to coordinate the Group function
- Managing a team comprising of 10-12 staff.
This is a hands-on role and would suit someone who enjoys getting into the thick of the business and can also contribute to the overall strategic direction of the business.
It is a high profile role within the Group and will have exposure to all financial and commercial aspects of the business.
The Requirements
The CFO is searching for an energetic and ambitious Financial Controller, a self-starter with a strong understanding of systems, team and change management. Valuable personal qualities will include:
- the ability to motivate and energise a team
- a self-starter with a level of commercial flair
- strong up-to-date technical financial accounting knowledge
- ability to act a sounding board and provide high quality support to the CFO
Candidates should be a qualified accountant, preferably ACA. Experience of working with high volumes of transactions is beneficial and experience of working for a private equity backed business is an advantage.
You must be adept at building relationships, both in finance and across the wider business and enjoy working in a constantly changing and growing business.
You will be highly personable and a credible leader of the finance team, motivated to succeed and develop their career within a fast-paced business environment.
