Financial Reporting Accountant - £35-45k

MERJE Ltd have been instructed to recruit an exciting and commercially focused Management Accountant role for a market leading FTSE Listed business based in Newcastle.

Our client has ambitious growth plans over the next 3-4 years and are now looking to recruit a dynamic career minded qualified Financial Reporting Accountant to work closely with the senior leadership team and report directly into the Head of Finance to deliver all month end corporate reporting across management accounts and statutory reporting in addition to developing and improving internal processes whilst supporting internal strategic projects by supporting key business decisions through providing in-depth financial analysis and wider business support.

Financial Reporting Accountant duties:

• Preparation of monthly management accounts including P&L’s, Balance Sheet, & Working Capital for review
• Prepare variance analysis for month end margin and cash, weekly and monthly reporting and update financial forecasts
• Produce UK GAAP/IFRS with commentary in addition to prepare statutory accounts and act as first point of contact with auditors
• Prepare annual budgets and periodic updates to support updates for external parties
• Support ad-hoc projects when they arise and liaise with internal audit function and resolve any issues identified

Financial Reporting Accountant Profile:

• Ideally you will be a CIMA / ACCA / ACA newly / recently qualified with up to 3 years’ post qualification experience operating in a similar Financial Accountant or Management Accountant role looking for the next step / greater exposure
• Candidate’s that are currently based in practice who are looking to make their first move into industry will also be considered
• Possess good academics and be pro-active in your approach, willing to challenge existing processes / controls
• Commercially and analytically minded as this role will support all commercial analysis activity and will business partner across the business
• Great attention to detail with strong interpersonal skills whilst having excellent communication skills across all levels.
• Highly organised, diligent and structured individual with the ability to work to tight deadlines.
