Head of Finance

Your new company
An innovative and collaborative public sector organisation based in Leeds which works to drive inward investment, and economic growth potential within the local West Yorkshire region. Driving sustainability, technological development, and high profile projects around transport, skills and education they are currently looking to appoint a new Head if Finance.

Your new role
Reporting into the Senior Leadership team, whilst leading and managing a team of ten, you will ensure financial and budgetary systems are robust and adaptable to change and improvement. Managing all financial aspects of organisational activity you will lead on the integration of corporate planning with financial planning to ensure the most effective use of resources. You will champion partnership working across the wider organisation and externally, whilst creating a positive and high performance working environment for your team. You will review budgets and ensure they are aligned with the business planning process whilst ensuring annual accounts are compliant in preparation for audit.

What you'll need to succeed
A fully qualified accountant, you will have extensive practical experience of successfully performing in a similar role within a complex public body. You will have had experience of leading and developing a finance function in a changing landscape. Technically strong, you will have experience of influencing and negotiating with senior leadership and other internal and external stakeholders.
