The Role
Reporting to the Finance Director, you will play a key role in driving continuous development of the finance function towards PLC control and reporting standards This role will also oversee and mange one direct report.
- Preparation of group consolidation and subsidiary financial statements
- End-to-end coordination of the delivery of the Annual Report
- Main point of contact for External Auditors and responsible for coordinating the interim and year-end audits
- Liaison with professional tax advisors to ensure that returns are accurate and filed on time
- Submission of VAT returns
- Review of monthly balance sheet reconciliations, identifying risks and driving resolution
- Loan covenant compliance and reporting
- Review of contracts across the organisation, commenting on accounting and regulatory implications
- Assist with treasury management including the review of hedging requirements and cash forecasts
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the control environment, driving the implementation of recommendations from Internal and External Auditors
- Maintenance of financial policies, ensuring that they reflect the latest accounting and regulatory requirements
- Work with teams to enhance existing "out of the box" reports
- Maintain Chart of accounts, reporting frameworks across Finance and HCM modules
Key Requirements:
- ACA/ACCA Qualified within Practice plus Commercial Experience
- Available at Short Notice
- Previous proven experience within a similar role
- Strong technical accounting skills including FRS102 (UKGAAP) & Tax
- The ability to build and develop strong relationships internally and externally with senior stakeholders and decision makers
- Possess excellent attention to detail
- Prior experience working as part of a management team
- Excellent communication skills
