Finance Director

Elevation Senior Finance are delighted to have been engaged as a retained recruitment partner by a specialist manufacturing business in Lincolnshire, to support them in the recruitment of a Finance Director.

Established for nearly 50 years, my client is an ambitious, growing and profitable family owned business. Since its inception, the business has built up an excellent reputation in its market place, focusing its efforts on ensuring every customer receives market leading customer service which has resulted in the majority of its business being based on repeat customers and recommendations. Operating across a number of specialist trading entities, the company is able to offer its customers bespoke manufacturing, high quality products and excellent customer service throughout. Reporting to the Managing Director, the Finance Director will play a key role as part of the senior management team and will be responsible for the following:

- The team is stable and competent so delivering the basics would be a given, we are looking for a senior manager to add real value through leadership and direction
- Ensuring the effective and smooth running of the finance, stores and purchasing functions whilst providing the team with clear direction and leadership.
- Ability and willing to help shape the future of the business and support on operational issues across a variety of disciplines including procurement, waste management, stock control, stores management etc
- Challenging and becoming a valued member of the senior management team and adding value through the provision of insightful analysis and reporting to support managers and staff across the company
- Displaying a tenacity and drive to thrive in a fast paced and growing SME business and take ownership for the timely delivery of agreed projects
- Becoming the face of finance in the business and through interacting outside of the finance department demonstrating an interest and understanding of staff across all levels and disciplines.

In addition to the above core duties, my client is looking to find an ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualified accountant who has the personality, confidence and drive to become an effective business partner to both the Managing Director and the senior management team. A strong background in Financial and Management accounting would also be beneficial.

Key challenges over the next 12 months will include maintaining the high quality and consistency of the products, ensuring control of material costs and supporting the business as its sales continue to increase so applicants with experience working within a manufacturing environment would be preferred although is not essential. This role would best suit a commercially minded, inquisitive and forward thinking individual that identifies opportunities/potential issues early and has the confidence to highlight these to the Managing Director.
