My clients are a mid tier law firm based in north west London. Due to semi retirement of long standing finance director the company are looking to appoint a qualified accountant with legal sector experience as a finance manager to oversee the small accounts team.



Key Responsibilities and Duties include:
*Managing the accounts assistant
*To produce monthly and annual management accounts and reports
*Responsible for ensuring all aspects of the accounts department run smoothly, and that all work is produced in an accurate and timely manner
*Resolving accounts related queries from partners and fee-earners within the firm, and from our bankers and suppliers, by email and telephone
*Monthly compliance reporting
*Quarterly VAT Return submission, and arranging monthly payments
*EC Sales List submission
*Preparing management and departmental reports at month end and quarter end, including variance analysis and KPI reporting
*Analysis of Debt and WIP data
*Responsibility for preparation and completion of all government surveys
*Responsible for the training of Accounts staff in new processes and systems as they arise
*Responsible with VAT inspections and annual Audit of accounts
*General month end administrative duties, including assisting the team with bill checking and write offs
*Dealing with residual client balances
*Preparing ad hoc bespoke reports as requested by the Management Board




Person Specification - experience and attributes required:

Please only apply of you are fully qualified accountant with law firm experience

*Solid, proven experience of a managerial role within the accounts department of a law firm
*Accurate and organised with a good eye for detail and a strong knowledge of the SARS
*Excellent communication both written and verbal
*Exceptional interpersonal skills, demonstrating professionalism in all dealings
*Confident and highly motivated individual with a proactive attitude
*IT literate, with strong Excel skills
