Badenoch & Clark are currently recruiting for a well established organisation based in Cambridgeshire who are looking for an Assistant Tax Manager to join the team. The role of Tax Assistant Manager is to support the Group Tax Manager with UK compliance as well as assisting with group projects and reporting as well as supporting business needs. An important aspect of this role is to prepare the tax computations for the UK Group companies so strong compliance skills are essential, as is good organisation and an ability to work methodically.

* Assisting the tax manager with quarterly reporting of the UK tax provision
* Completion of the UK Group VAT Return together with associated reports such as ECSL and Intrastat
* Calculating the quarterly instalment corporation tax payments for the UK Group
* Assisting with the completion of UK statutory tax notes within the financial statements
* Assist with the preparation of group transfer pricing documentation relevant to the UK
* Establish and maintain documentation of processes and policies in relation to taxation
* Assist the tax manager with the year-end reporting of the consolidated global tax provision and prepare tax journals to be posted
* Assist the tax manager with quarterly reporting of the global tax provision
* Support the UK and European Group with ad hoc questions that arise and work with the tax manager dealing with tax authority enquiries
* Assist with the preparation of group transfer pricing documentation
* Meeting external HMRC reporting and filing deadlines
* Ensuring the organisation is compliant with all local tax legislation
* Monitoring the tax payments and ensuring cast tax flow forecasts and expectations are managed correctly
* Dealing with local tax authority enquiries and audits in a timely fashion to ensure good relationships are maintained
* Accurate disclosure for tax in financial statements

The skills and experience required are:

* Strong UK compliance knowledge
* Good tax accounting skills including all aspects of deferred tax
* Previous VAT experience an advantage or must have a willingness to learn
* Previous experience of other taxes such as employment taxes an advantage
* Experience of using tax software
* Excellent written and verbal communications skills
* A tax or accounting qualification is desirable, however previous experience will be taken into consideration
