A global multi-site business with their headquarters based in Milton Keynes are looking for a Head of Group Finance to lead their reporting and M&A function.

The Head of Group Finance will be involved in the following duties based in Milton Keynes:

 

 

  • Lead the Group Reporting team

 

  • Deliver consolidated weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual business information and financial data to tight deadlines with high levels of accuracy and efficiency

 

  • Ensure data integrity within operating unit data submissions including identifying and investigating variances in divisional data submitted to head office

 

  • Support divisional finance teams to ensure consistency in the interpretation of Group policies and reporting requirements
  • Prepare the financial sections of external publications, led by the group's Annual Report, and statutory accounts of head office companies

 

  • Developing accounting policies in line with evolving business requirements of the Group
  • Continuously review business processes within the Group Reporting team to further add value and reduce reporting timelines to enhance efficiency
  • The resourcing, development (including operational visits) and cost control of the Group Reporting team
  • Being the point of contact throughout the Group for technical accounting and reporting queries and reviewing new developments in IFRS/UKGAAP and related regulatory frameworks to assess the impact on the Group
  • Working with external auditors to ensure a smooth and efficient audit of the consolidation process, including ensuring that their queries get dealt with promptly
  • Supporting wider Group Finance and Head Office work including ad hoc project support and financial modelling

 

Candidates interested in this Head of Group Finance position should ideally match the following criteria or equivilent:

 

 

  • Qualified ACA/CIMA/ACCA with minimum 5 years PQE and first time passes
  • Proven experience of consolidation accounting and applying IFRS for an organisation (either directly or from audit experience)
  • Proven experience of leading a professional team and motivating and managing across functions
  • Track record of delivery of a high quality product to tight deadlines
  • Proactive and commercially focused with high personal drive and ambition
  • Ability to generate solutions to technical accounting problems

 

  • Strong cultural awareness ensuring an ability to work with global colleagues
