Head of Finance

Our client, is a Manchester based SME consumer goods business. They have recently gone through a transaction and now require a Head of Finance to lead the centralisation of the new dual site reporting structure. 

In addition to overseeing a strong financial governance of the company which includes managing the banking and 3rd party relationships, the role will be required to have significant impact on the performance of finance in the business. Initial objectives will include the re-scoping of IT platforms, defining the future finance structure from resource management and recruitment, to the design of new management information, month end and board reporting formats. 

As the number one finance person on site, there will also be significant operational involvement. Working alongside the MD and with the senior management, it will look into reducing operating costs, growing the business and improving profitability, as well as supporting more strategic initiatives around capital expenditure. 

This is a high profile role and the successful candidate will need to possess a track record of clear leadership and board level capability. Applicants must be qualified and whilst there is a strong preference for FMCG sector or multi product, complex manufacturing environment experience, more important is proven experience of managing businesses through organisational change, combined with a hands on structured approach to finance, based on robust controls and commercial reality.
