Financial Controller

Our client is a leading North West property investment Group.  With a robust balance sheet and well diversified portfolio of investments and development opportunities this long established business is well managed, entrepreneurial and steadily growing.

A Financial Controller (Head of Finance)  is now required to take responsibility for the robust management of the Group’s finances and to deliver accurate and timely financial insight , cashflow forecasting, bank covenant compliance reporting and tax compliance.

Responsibilities will include:

• Day to day management of all aspects of finance including ensuring a robust control environment
• Management and motivation of a finance team of 2 staff
• Monthly /quarterly and year end reporting routines
• Budgeting and forecasting
• Evaluation and modelling of potential development and investment projects and assistance with associated financing proposals
• Managing key relationships with banks/lenders, auditors, tax advisors, insurers
• Company Secretarial matters

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:-

• Experienced and committed accountant;
• Proven track record of leading a finance function in an entrepreneurial privately owned business committed to working to high personal standards;
• Prior experience in a property business is desirable but not essential;
• Hands on, happy to work deep in the detail while keeping an eye on the bigger picture;
• Strong team management skills, able to motivate and develop the finance team;
• Possessing strong communication skills and adept at building productive relationships both within and outside the business including with banks and other lenders.
