My Public Sector client, based in Central Leeds is seeking an experienced Head of Finance to lead the finance and corporate business planning teams.

Reporting to the Director the post holder will take a key role in shaping all financial aspects of the business activities, ensuring strategic direction, advice and procedures are in place.

You are also required to ensure business planning and corporate performance processes are aligned with financial resources.

The Head of Finance must be able to demonstrate extensive financial experience working with stakeholders and senior managers along with some strong commercial experience

Responsibilities:

· Lead the finance team in supporting and enabling achievement of organisational objectives.

· Ensure financial and budgetary systems and processes are robust and adaptable to change and improvement

· Lead on the integration of corporate planning with financial planning to ensure the most effective use of resources.

· Develop and drive changes in financial processes and systems to improve the performance of the team and the organisation.

· Take a key role in managing all financial aspects of the business activities, ensuring financial controls and procedures are produced and adhered to.

· Ensure the provision of appropriate commercial and financial advice on projects, grants and loans as required

· Lead the finance and corporate business planning functions, providing clear direction and championing new ways of working.

· Partner with internal stakeholders to develop and deliver efficient and effective use of resources. Simplify transactional processes and encouraging the team to focus on strategic matters.

· Lead on the development and management of financial systems, records and other internal controls

· Work with senior managers, Leadership Team and Members, providing strategic financial input into proposals, projects, reports and decisions.
