A successful privately owned business based near Amersham are looking to recruit an excellent senior management accountant who has excellent communication skills and good excel skills.
The Finance and Commercial team comprises a Head of Finance, a Financial Controller providing oversight of a management accounts team, a pensions & payroll team, a financial planning team & financial services team including payables & receivables.
The department places a focus upon following process excellence and ensuring deliverables are provided in accordance to strict timetables.
1.1. Responsibility for the timely production of accurate, transparent and meaningful management accounts for several trading divisions.
1.2. Analyse and investigate financial information and queries which will frequently be complex in respect of expenditure trends and budget variances.
1.3. Proactive management of budgets through regular meetings with key stakeholders including site managers, Business Managers and Directors.
1.4. To be the first point of contact for all divisional queries and to attend meetings as required to support business operations.
1.5. Continually develop management reporting in order to provide timely, accurate and easily interpreted financial reports, requiring high level of proficiency in Excel and other business applications.
1.6. Oversight of both revenue and cost recognition within the group in-line with both customer and supplier agreements.
1.7. Assist with the production of month-end board pack.
1.8. To have a thorough understanding of the trading activities of the group including revenue and cost drivers.
1.9. To provide management oversight of the weekly KPI gross margin reporting process.
1.10. To ensure the effective coordination and allocation of tasks within the management accounts team and being responsible for those tasks that are more complex in nature.
1.11. Line management responsibility for two Management Accounts Assistants and one Accounts Assistant
2.1. Assist with the preparation of records for the audit of Statutory Accounts and provide support to the Financial Services team.
3.1. Assist the Financial Controller & Financial Planning Analyst to develop / maintain budgets and forecasts.
3.2. Assist with achievement of cash flow plan.
3.3. Assist with the production of board reports and pack.
To be considered for this role you will be a qualified accountant (or qbe) with demonstrable relevant experience.
You will also have have good excel skills and ideally have some people management experience.
