The Opportunity:
Analysis & Reporting
- Produce monthly management accounts for use by the UK Board to include P&L, balance sheet and cash flow. This will encompass accruals, prepayments and control accounts recs, along with various analysis on sales, stock, cash flow, fixed assets, scrap and foreign exchange.
- Group reporting to parent organisation, e.g. KPIs, cash flow, investment reporting.
- Analysis for Financial Management and other internal departments such as variances, cost of sales, labour analysis, expenses, obsolete stock, material usages.
- Preparation of statutory accounts, corporation tax and annual return.
Planning
- Consolidation of annual and interim financial plan.
- Working with functions to assimilate budget data and ensure full understanding of zero based approach. Reconcile uploaded budget to P&L/
- Produce bi-annual forecast of balance sheet and cash flow.
External Audits & Compliance
- Working with external auditors for planning close and full year end, producing year end file, answering questions, producing tax packs and understanding and applying GAAP, IFRS and IAS standards where applicable.
- Ensure adherence to compliance standards.
- Ensure adherence to transfer pricing rules.
People
- Responsibility for day to day management of the full finance function, supporting a team of 4 people.
- Be motivated to look after your own professional development.
Stock
- Monthly management of stock transactions, including analysis and investigation of issues.
- Monitoring physical to book value of inventory throughout the year, culminating in shared responsibility for bi-annual full stock takes and consequential reporting.
- Signing off requisitions above £1000 ensuring business cases are agreed.
- Working with departments to help them understand financial implications around expenditure and capex.
- Control of balance sheet items including customer tooling, payroll and import duty.
You:
- Capable to progress to Senior Finance Manager level within 2-5 years
- Qualified (or nearly Qualified) Accountant (ACMA, ACCA, ACA)
- Previous experience of working for a manufacturing organisation would be a distinct advantage.
- Motivated to work toward continuous improvement.
- Experience of using Microsoft Office specifically Excel to a reasonably advanced level.
