Our client is a multi-franchise site motor dealer of used and new cars and vans. They have a vacancy for an experienced Motor Dealership Management Accountant in Sheffield. You would report to the General Manager and Finance Director. You would have a small finance team reporting to you.
Primary responsibilities
Responsible for Sales Admin and accounts teams
Completion of Annual budgets
Responsible for completion of Year-end Audit
Ensure adherence to GFPP and Group Policies and Procedures
Review of Cash flow prior to submission
Line Manager - time and development
Review of comparison & KPI reports with GM/Line Managers
Review of Stocks and Debtor - instigate and report on actions taken to ensure that Group is not exposed
Complete Review of Balance Sheet reconciliations
Authorisation and submission of Monthly Bank Reconc iliation
Review and submit VAT Return
Review and authorise all journals
GM Support
Ensure all invoices coded correctly
Review expense analysis with GM and Line Managers and identify and implement cost savings where appropriate.
Review of backing schedules / accounts
Control of working capital and funding
Monthly review of WIP/GRNI with Managers
Process Payroll information - Control sheets/bonus prep/commissions/Expenses
Ensure weekly/monthly manager meetings take place
Overview of CAP prior to submission
Sign off Petty Cash - weekly/monthly
Authorise Asset Registers prior to month end completion
Review and authorisation of P11d submission
Review Reserves/KPl's backing sheets prior to submission
Review weekly forecasts prior to submission
Review and approve final monthly Profit figures & Accounts Packs
Balance and close Nominal Ledger
Ad Hoc duties as required
Candidate Profile and range of experience
Qualified/ Part Qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA.
Numeric skills
Dealership standards and adherence to those standards.
Relevant local, national, and European regulations and laws pertaining to the automotive industry
Motor Industry procedures for handling transactions, verifying customer account numbers, posting cheques, etc.
Vehicle legislation, consumer legislation, and trade practices
Accounting practices and procedures, audit procedures and expectations
Official/legislative requirements relating to the accounting function e.g. VAT, Corporation Tax, etc.
