Management Accountant

A regionally celebrated and successful institution is looking to recruit a brand new post as a Finance Business Partner to add some real value to the organisation. The position will report into the Finance Director and have a dotted line into the Divisional Head and Head of Commercial Services. They will provide support to the Senior Management and the budget managers in all aspects of finance, being closely involved not only in monthly analysis and reporting but also in decision-making, for example providing analysis on new provision and supporting the tendering process for new contracts. The role will be based predominantly in the business, but will be an integral part of the Finance team, becoming a subject matter expert for all aspects of the different divisions. They will also work closely with the Director of Strategic Planning, Funding & Performance to understand and assess the impact on funding changes to the organisation.

Some of the main duties will include;
1.Ongoing analysis of performance and proactive collaboration with senior management to drive change and improvement.
2.Preparation of income and expenditure accruals to be posted by the Group Accountant.
3.Analysis and preparation of narrative for the monthly reporting pack.
4.Attendance at the organisation's work-based learning team meetings and presentation of financial information.
5.Providing informed challenge at budget and performance review meetings.
6.Attendance at Finance team meetings and presentation of financial information.
7.Any ad-hoc project work required by the Senior Directors or budget managers to assist them in understanding, managing and achieving their budgets.

With this being a new role, the chance is there for someone to shape the role and have a real sense of ownership. You must be proactive and a Qualified Accountant with a strong desire to impact change on a commercial level. Someone who is strong enough to manage a 4 day week workload would also be considered.
