Our Client is one of the world's largest Property Investors with a presence in all the major sectors across the UK, Europe and Asia. They are looking for a Fund Controller to join their Property Fund Finance Team which is responsible for the financial operations of £multi-billion of property funds which includes providing financial control and oversight services to European and UK real estate funds, as well as a range of new investment products to be launched during 2017.

The Role will involve the following:

  • Reporting into the Team Leader for the UK and Luxembourg-Domiciled Institutional Funds.
  • Providing financial control and oversight services to UK property funds and new products.
  • Being the key point of contact for all key stakeholders and will have primary responsibility for the delivery of financial control for the two existing funds and the new products.
  • Pricing and NAV review.
  • Second review of monthly/quarterly reporting packs.
  • Working with the ELP accountants to ensure correct accounting, particularly with respect to new transactions.
  • Second review of monthly/quarterly NAV packs received from the administrator including reviewing the investment value, subscription and redemption prices, distribution calculation, and accruals.
  • Reviewing of additional supporting documentation and information prepared by the Financial Accountant and provided to the administrator to prepare additional reporting including: AIFMD reporting, INREV SDDS reporting, and INREV fee metrics.
  • Monitoring fund cash requirements and reviewing the weekly cashflow forecast prepared by the Financial Accountant.
  • Running bi-weekly meetings with the fund management team to keep up to date with current and impending activity and providing accounting advance where required.
    Preparing accounting memos for complex transactions and working to get these signed off with the auditors before exchange.
  • Reviewing financial statements prepared under IFRS and work closely with internal teams to ensure the annual report is delivered on time.
  • Managing the production of the IFRS financial statements.
  • Running quarterly meetings with the Residential Fund accountants.
  • Liaison with external accounting suppliers to ensure instructions are appropriate, clear and followed and attendance at relationship meetings with service providers to report on any updates or issues.
  • Reviewing quarterly investor report and inputs prepared by the Financial Accountant Review of financial oversight memos prepared by the Financial Accountant and presentation of these reports at Board meetings.
  • Review of quarterly consolidation reporting to Prudential Group prepared by the Financial Accountant.
  • Working with the Client Reporting team to respond to adhoc investor queries.
  • Working with the Financial Accountant to prepare information required by the tax team to ensure the tax compliance of the funds.
  • The segregated mandate will require review a detailed property level review of US GAAP, UK GAAP and Fair Market Value trial balances, as well as annual budgeting and quarterly budget forecasts.
  • Provision of cover to Team Leader, Financial Accountant and other team members.
  • Assistance with ad-hoc projects covering various elements of the work of the Property Fund Finance team.

The Person MUST be an ACA/ACCA qualified accountant with Property financial accounting experience. You will be self-motivated with a diligent and detailed approach to completing tasks and be able to communicate effectively with internal and external parties. You will have strong analytical skills and be able to understand, question and challenge a range of financial data. Being able to use Excel to an advanced level is desirable as well as property systems experience, although this is not essential. This is an excellent opportunity aligned with the Fund Managers and partnering the business.
