Assistant Management Accountant

A dynamic and exciting Central London based FCA regulated brokerage firm are looking to hire an Assistant Management Accountant. The job has arisen due to my client's remarkable growth over the last 2 years (including opening several new foreign offices).

My client has a preference for candidates who are pursuing an accountancy qualification, i.e. ACCA or CIMA. You should have 1-3 years relevant finance experience within a fast paced environment.

The role will be reporting in to the CFO. The duties will be focused around month/year end, i.e. balance sheet reconciliations, profit and loss analysis, accruals and prepayments and assisting with statutory accounts. You must be able to investigate anomalies with general ledger codes and be able to explain the reasons for the difference.

There is an element of transactional finance involved with the role i.e. maintaining the accounts payable function, bank reconciliations, cash management and maintaining the fixed asset register. It's a very dynamic working environment and candidates must demonstrate previous experience of scrutinising and reviewing processes.

You should be a very engaging, assertive and confident in person. My client wants candidates who can converse with people at all levels of the business. Candidates need to be strong enough to challenge senior managers and stakeholders. The CFO sits on the Board and you will be able to translate your ideas to very senior and influential members of staff.

There is a significant amount of Excel use in the role, so candidates should be confident building pivot tables and v-look ups from scratch. Exposure to macros would be an excellent bonus. Candidates should ideally have 1-3 years relevant accounting experience.
