Head of Group Finance
London
Salary: Competitive + benefits
St Paul’s Cathedral is a church of international repute and is the working home of the Diocese of London and the seat of its Bishop. The Cathedral is truly iconic, not just in terms of London's skyline, its fabric and architectural status but as a daily place of worship, learning, debate and hope for the Capital City. It is a building of outstanding beauty and international importance that requires robust financial management to support the highest standards of service excellence and commercial enterprise.
This is a senior leadership role at the Cathedral that requires a candidate with the complementary values, attitude and management skills to enhance its finance function to deliver against the needs of the Chapter. Reporting to the Registrar, the appointed candidate will lead on the financial change agenda, drive management information, inform decision-making and maximise efficiencies. They will lead in terms of control and reporting, whilst ensuring coherent planning and governance protocols are in place to drive commercial activities that will protect and ensure the long term sustainability of the Cathedral.
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with a wealth of experience within a similarly complex and customer-centric environment with the capacity to think and work from a strategic perspective. They will be analytical and bring strong financial planning and programme management skills to the fore with an understanding of statutory requirements and how to use financial management information to inform and shape decision-making across the Cathedral. This post holder will have a sound commercial mind and an ability to inform and influence others both internally and externally through an engaging style coupled with an appreciation of the Cathedral’s mission.
