A large, well known law firm who are looking for someone to manage their Operational Finance Team in Manchester with occasional travel to Birmingham
About the job
As Finance Team Lead, you would be expected to carry out the following duties & responsibilities:
- Managing daily & weekly reports
- Manage and develop Operational Finance teams in Manchester and Birmingham meaning occasional travel to Birmingham
- Actively manage workloads to ensure that all operational and transactional tasks are carried out by the finance operations team in accordance with the finance service level agreement
- Budgeting & forecasting
- Regularly liaise with stakeholders as to what works well/does not work well and put forward clear, structured and thought through solutions to the Finance Operations Manager
- Take responsibility for implementation ensuring clear communication with the operations team at all times
- Supporting the Finance Director in the day to day running of the accounting team
- Working within the accounts team ensuring all monthly management accounts are produced on time. Responsibility for all areas of the P&L and balance sheet, producing monthly management accounts with variance analysis & commentary
- Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Ensure reconciliations completed each month
About the person
- A qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA or international equivalent) or by qualified by experience (QBE)
- Previous experience within a role that has line management responsibilities and been responsible for implementing new methods of working
- Ideally, previous legal/financial services sector experience
- Experience in producing management accounts, to month end
- Ability to manage time effectively and make solid judgements RE: travel etc.
