Financial Accountant Team Leader

South Kesteven is a local government district in Lincolnshire, forming part of the traditional Kesteven division of the county. It covers Grantham, Stamford, Bourne and Market Deeping.

Due to the continued success and development of the organisation we are looking to appoint an experienced Financial Accountant Team Leader. You will be responsible for the delivery of performance improvements and the day to day management of people, finance, information, resources and projects. The successful candidate will produce the statement of accounts in line with government requirements and CIPFA codes of practice. You will prepare the financial information for the setting of the council tax levy, support the medium term financial plan, as well as preparing and coordinating the delivery of the Capital Strategy. Within the role you will also coordinate efficiencies, provide Housing Revenue Account financial management and complete statutory and discretionary returns. You will also support and deliver the budget setting cycle, coordinate budget monitoring and forecasting, as well as undertaking regular reconciliation of all control accounts and banking statements. Finally you will carry out regular analysis of key financial information and undertake regular modelling of Collection Fund and Cash Flow model, in addition to ensuring prudent treasury management of the council investments.

It is also envisaged that the successful candidate must be an exceptional professional with ambition and drive and a positive member of the management team that leads by example. It is essential that you are a fully qualified CCAB Accountant with current or previous experience working in a local authority. These are prerequisites and candidates that do not meet these essential criteria will not be considered. 

Salary: £46,275 plus up to £6,500 relocation package where applicable.
