My client, located close to Bury town centre, is a specialist wholesale & retail business that has been established for nearly 100 years. Due to the retirement of the current incumbent (they haven't been there for all the 100 years!) the opportunity has arisen for an experienced and proven professional to join the business on a permanent, part time basis in the role of Finance Manager. The role is for 4 days but my client is flexible as to whether this would be four full days, or four days worked over five.

The business has 4 sites which are each accounted and reported for as departments / business units, and a turnover of around £4-5 million. Reporting to the MD & Owner, your role will be varied and interesting. Your duties will include, but not restricted to:-
 

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts for each business unit for presentation to the MD
  • Comparison of monthly results to budget
  • Preparation, maintenance and management of monthly cashflow forecasts
  • Stock reporting and analysis
  • Sales and profit analysis and reporting
  • VAT & Intrastats
  • Payroll
  • Purchase ledger
  • Bank reconciliations


This is a very responsible role with variety but also needs someone who is capable of reporting and analysis while happy to process invoices and complete reconciliations. Good IT skills, including excel, are essential as is a professional and courteous manner.
