Financial Analyst

A rapidly growing business has an immediate requirement for a Financial Analyst with experience of querying in SQL and working knowledge of data visualisation tools to join them on an initial 6 month contract.

Reporting and working closely with the Group FC this is an excellent opportunity to join a business going through a period of growth and transformation

Key responsibilities

Deliver management information, budget and planning requirements utilising the existing data warehouse via SQL queries, pre-defined extracts and Excel modelling;
Support the finance team's implementation of Tableau (data visualisation tool), which will sit alongside the new Microsoft Azure data warehouse environment;
Improve the efficiency of existing reporting requirements using smarter ways to access and reconcile financial data to reduce the time taken to close month end;
Month end and adhoc analysis of actual performance to budget and forecast;
Build business cases, monitor and ongoing reporting of performance to plan;
Owning KPI dashboards and working with stakeholders to improve the accuracy and quality of reporting;
Support the Group FC in design and delivery of the new technology-enabled financial control environment;
Act as the subject matter expert and support the desired improvement in analytical capabilities within the finance team

Key Skills

Accounting background and skills or experience gained within a Finance function
Recognised Accounting qualification is highly desirable
Previous experience working in a commercial role providing analytical insight
Stakeholder management
Expert skills in Excel
Experience querying in SQL, ideally Microsoft SQL Server
Experience with data visualisation tools ideally Tableau
