Company Accountant, No.1 in Finance in Skelmersdale, Excellent Growing SME.

Established for over 20 years, my client are an established specialised supplier to the UK, Ireland and Europe. Recently acquired and now part of an international group, they are in a fantastic position to invest and heavily grow the business over the next 5 years. As a proven brand leader and an expert in their field, this is exciting times as the company continues to go from strength to strength.

We are looking for a full time experienced Company Accountant to lead the company's financial duties. Reporting to the Managing Director you will be immersed in business strategy, controlling monthly processes and providing expertise and experience when required. You will be tasked with overhauling the financial systems, bringing robust controls and procedures into place.

Core requirements
* Provide leadership and direction to a small, close knit finance team
* Day to day control of finance operations including cash flow management and month-end accounts production
* Preparation of robust monthly management accounts
* Compilation of all relevant KPI data for reporting to Managing Director and commercial team,
* Support the review of all budget and forecast variances through the production of monthly variance reports.
* Assist in preparation of annual budgets and any required monthly or quarterly forecasts
* Monitor, report and analyse financial performance and make recommendations to Managing Director
* Assist in preparation and participation in Year-end accounts
* Liaise with statutory bodies as required
* Full ownership of Quarterly VAT Returns
* Prepare, review and update relevant working practices and ensure compliance
* Ensure compliance to all financial processes including; inputting financial data regarding Nominal Leger, Purchase Ledge and Sales Ledger, processing of Sales Invoices, payment of suppliers, ongoing credit control activities and reconciliation
* Undertake balance sheet reconciliations and own the resolution of issues;

Requirements;
* Qualified Accountant - preferably ACCA/CIMA/ACA
* Experience of managing in a small finance team
* Manufacturing Experience is a must
* Prior experience within an SME Environment
* Happy to roll sleeve up and get involved in the day-to-day
* Strong IT skills, inlcuding Sage 200
