A newly created Finance Business Partner role has just become available at a fast growing Pharmaceutical Company based in Central London. This role offers outstanding career progression for a finance professional who is a leader in their field.

About the Finance Business Partner role:

To manage the delivery of the financial objectives of the International Business Unit, ensuring strong commercial and financial analysis, a robust control environment, and a strong focus on driving financial performance and effectiveness.

To be the primary financial interface both internally and externally and decision point for all matters relating to the business unit financial management and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up costing models for each key programme and detailed project elements within each programme

  • Develop a clinical programme costing tool for use in future planning

  • Monitor actual programme and project costs vs budget on a monthly basis, managing regular reviews of cross functional teams to review costs to completion

  • Model new vendor contracts and work with the operational teams to develop the costing and payment framework of such commercial contracts

  • Take responsibility as required and directed by the clinical operationsteams to directly engage with vendors to negotiate aspects of contractual commitments.

  • Work with the CMC teams to model budget impact of potential programme manufacturing options and assist the team to manage their programme budgets

  • Work alongside the Business Development and other teams to develop costing models for the development costs at the appropriate stage of a product acquisition process

  • Work closely with the financial controller to ensure accurate period end cut-off and accrual of relevant costs

  • Responsible for setting up detailed bottom up annual group forecast of programme costs and inputting into the overall Group annual budget.

About You:

  • The candidate should ideally have a recognised financial qualification with a detailed understanding of the elements of clinical trial programmes and processes.

  • They should also have sophisticated modelling skills able to develop such models from scratch. The candidate should also have direct experience of the pharmaceutical industry ideally gained from working with Contract Research Organisations and Contract Manufacturing Organisations

  • The ability to critically appraise and robustly test and challenge is vital for success with this role as is the ability to work closely with and present information clearly to non-financial people.
