Commercial Management Accountant

Sellick Partnership has been engaged to recruit for a Commercial Management Accountant for a rapidly growing, progressive Service company based in Bolton. With Private Equity backing, this business has impressive strategic plans and is looking for a driven, commercially astute accounting professional that will inevitably be the number two to the Finance Director. The role duties of the Commercial Management Accountant:

This newly created position would be an excellent move for a proactive individual that would benefit from exceptional visibility and exposure to the business, one whereby you will be able put your own stamp on things and lead on various projects, providing commercial and financial support to the board and investors. The role purpose will be to provide detailed financial insight to support decision making that will ultimately affect future growth and will involve working in a business partnering capacity;

• Responsible for the production of Management Accounts and monthly reporting packs, including monthly analysis with variances to budget
• Assisting with the production of the annual budgets & forecasts
• Provide commercial analysis on business performance, market trends, and competitor analysis, developing management information and KPI's to support decision making
• Production of accurate financial, management and statutory accounts
• Support in the development of robust systems to ensure high quality reporting to the Board
• Liaise with stakeholders across the business, business partnering with operational business units

As you develop in the role your remit will grow, allowing the Finance Director to focus more on the strategic and operational activity of the business.

Required skills for the Commercial Management Accountant:

• The successful candidate will ideally be an ACA, ACCA or CIMA studier at the latter stages of their professional qualification (Part or Newly Qualified)
• Have strong Excel skills with the ability to manipulate data
• Manage the production of the monthly management accounts / balance reconciliations with ability to explain commentary and present findings
• Have previous exposure to providing Commercial Analysis and insight
• Make recommendations for improvement initiatives where necessary
• Take on financial reporting - awareness of current financial standards would be a benefit
• Able to deal confidently with senior stakeholders including heads of departments to help provide commercial insight and add value to decision making
