Audit & Accounts Manager

A leading independent accountancy practice with multiple offices is seeking an experienced Audit and Accounts Manager to join their Chesterfield office.

This is a well-known business in the area that has seen consistent growth over the last 5 years, that works with an enviable portfolio of businesses in South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire. Working as part of a strong team of experienced professionals, and reporting to a Senior Manager, you will take the lead of a portfolio of corporate clients typically between £1m and £40m turnover.

The business has a very low staff turnover and a strong track record of internal promotion. This position has come about due to a sustained period of growth which has seen a 20% increase in workload over the last 12 months. They are known for their positive culture which includes a focus on cross-department partnering and a flexible working policy.

You will be responsible for managing the clients and the audit and accounts process, as well as a small team both on and off site, reviewing their work and helping to guide and develop them. There is some travel involved due to the nature of audit work, but overall this is expected to be kept to a minimum as the vast majority of the firm's clients are local.

The firm are seeking an experienced qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent) who has led audit and accounts assignments, who is an excellent communicator and relationship builder with clients of all backgrounds. Previous experience in a management role is an advantage though this post is suitable for someone looking for their first full management post.
