Bookkeeper Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily and monthly reconciliation of all bank accounts
  • Input Multi Bank Account transaction/statements/ Journal uploads
  • Raise daily bank journals for upload
  • Daily point of contact for all bank queries
  • Investigate branch banking differences
  • Deal with and investigate all cash queries
  • Report and escalated banking and till differences, ensuring anomalies are reported promptly to allow corrective action
  • Supervise and coordinate team tasks and ensure completion of the relevant workflow checklists
  • Raising cheque payment requests
  • Daily cash reporting
  • Internal reporting on bank covenant compliance
  • Assisting on daily and weekly cash flow forecast
  • Assistance in Audits (internal/external/SOX) and ensure compliance with internal controls
  • Ensure treasury function runs smoothly with regular team reviews
  • Assist in developing and improving C&B procedures, policies and share best practice
  • Issuing daily bank downloads and liaising with the finance team
  • Provide cover for other treasury functions and ad hoc duties as required

The successful Bookkeeper Candidate:

  • Ideally is AAT qualified
  • Previous experience in a supervisory role with responsibility for cash/banking processes in a multi-site, high volume cash environment
  • Strong administration skills and ability to systematically organise
  • Knowledge of robust treasury/banking processes
  • Good working knowledge and experience of Excel
  • Staff supervision, coaching and training experience
  • Ability to work in a high volume, transactional environment
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good communication skills
  • Hard working and committed attitude
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to change
  • Proactive approach
