Working within a large corporate finance function, this role takes responsibility for managing all capital expenditure and projects and reporting across the group. You will be setting and maintaining the full capex policy, ensuring compliance with financial reporting standards and providing challenge and insight to capital projects. It is essential that a high level of control is maintained, therefore this role must be very detail-oriented, organised and driven to manage the high volume of capital requests.
This role will require you to work closely with the Financial Reporting team to ensure capital expenditure is reported in accordance with accounting standards and to deadlines.
Principal Accountabilities:
-To ensure that capital expenditure reported in accordance with relevant accounting standards
-To maintain the online capex tool and ensure the system is robust
-To maintain and improve the capex database
-To provide support and challenge to the business around capital expenditure and projects
-To ensure capital committees are run effectively
-To take responsibility for preparing the annual budget and reforecast of capital expenditure
-Managing and ensuring compliance with company expenditure via the PO process
Knowledge, skills, experience and competencies:
-A qualified accountant with an in-depth understanding of capital expenditure financial reporting standards
-Excellent communication and inter-personal skills and have the ability to liaise with both finance and non-finance individuals at all levels of the business
-Strong influencer with the ability to balance support with challenge in order to make things happen. Proven ability to influence senior management across the business
Ideally you will be a fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) who has trained within Practice although consideration will be given to other individuals with strong technical accounting skills.
