Finance Manager

My exclusive client is a fast growing and profitable £6m t/o Manufacturing/Contract Engineering company based at modern offices and integrated factory/warehousing facility in Middleton, Manchester.

Due to the company's ongoing growth and expansion, the FD seeks a strong no2 in Finance to manage all the day to day accounting and financial administration affairs of the business, operating on a Sage 50 systems platform.

Managing 2 clerical Assistants, you will be responsible for:

• Efficient and timely control of the ledgers and day to day financial transactions.
• Payroll
• Credit control
• Monthly management accounts production, including P&L / Balance Sheet reconciliations
• Support the FD in the robust "bottom up" annual Budget process and regular Forecasting exercises.
• Support the FD to pull together the year-end Statutory accounts, including liaison with the Auditors.
• Ongoing support to the improvement and development of financial and wider operational processes in line with the growth needs of the business.  

The successful candidate will have sound knowledge and experience of the full range of accounting and accounts processing requirements in a stand-alone SME business environment.

Previous experience of Sage accounting systems would be a further advantage.

You will either be qualified or QBE; the practical ability and experience is more important than formal qualifications.
