Interim Financial Analyst

This role will report into the Group FC and is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in the ambitious transformational agenda of the business and finance during 2017.

The Financial Analyst will be required to:

• Deliver management information, budget and planning requirements utilising the existing data warehouse via SQL queries, pre-defined extracts and Excel modelling;
• Support the finance team’s implementation of Tableau (data visualisation tool), which will sit alongside the new Microsoft Azure data warehouse environment;
• Improve the efficiency of existing reporting requirements using smarter ways to access and reconcile financial data to reduce the time taken to close month end;
• Month end and adhoc analysis of actual performance to budget and forecast;
• Build business cases, monitor and ongoing reporting of performance to plan;
• Owning KPI dashboards and working with stakeholders to improve the accuracy and quality of reporting;
• Support the Group FC in design and delivery of the new technology-enabled financial control environment;
• Act as the subject matter expert and support the desired improvement in analytical capabilities within the finance team.

Requirements

We need you to have:

• Accounting background or skills or experience gained within a Finance function strongly preferred
• Previous experience working in a commercial role providing analytical insight
• Stakeholder management
• Expert skills in Excel
• Experience querying in SQL, ideally Microsoft SQL Server
• Experience with data visualisation tools ideally Tableau
• Experience with accounting software ideally Exchequer
• Hands on approach
• Available immediately or at very short notice
