This role will report into the Group FC and is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in the ambitious transformational agenda of the business and finance during 2017.
The Financial Analyst will be required to:
- Deliver management information, budget and planning requirements utilising the existing data warehouse via SQL queries, pre-defined extracts and Excel modelling;
- Support the finance team’s implementation of Tableau (data visualisation tool), which will sit alongside the new Microsoft Azure data warehouse environment;
- Improve the efficiency of existing reporting requirements using smarter ways to access and reconcile financial data to reduce the time taken to close month end;
- Month end and adhoc analysis of actual performance to budget and forecast;
- Build business cases, monitor and ongoing reporting of performance to plan;
- Owning KPI dashboards and working with stakeholders to improve the accuracy and quality of reporting;
- Support the Group FC in design and delivery of the new technology-enabled financial control environment;
- Act as the subject matter expert and support the desired improvement in analytical capabilities within the finance team.
Requirements
We need you to have:
- Accounting background or skills or experience gained within a Finance function strongly preferred
- Previous experience working in a commercial role providing analytical insight
- Stakeholder management
- Expert skills in Excel
- Experience querying in SQL, ideally Microsoft SQL Server
- Experience with data visualisation tools ideally Tableau
- Experience with accounting software ideally Exchequer
- Hands on approach
- Available immediately or at very short notice
