An iconic international retail business is looking for a Finance Manager ( ACA/ACCA) to join their office in Welwyn Garden City. The role provides an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified accountant ( ACA/ACCA) with a strong background in control and financial reporting. You will work in the team responsible for co-ordinating the consolidation of the periodic and statutory reports for the companies retail business in the UK.
Key Finance Manager responsibilities will include:
- Period end activities for the UK business to ensure complete, accurate and timely reporting of periodic results to Group Finance
- Identifying potential accounting & control issues through thorough review of UK periodic accounts
- Ensuring accounting for the UK business complies with IFRS and pro-actively understanding and communicating the impact of any changes in policy
- At key points in the year, working with the Statutory Accounts team to prepare the key statutory accounts for the UK business
- Helping to identify finance process and system improvements and working on projects that increase financial control and simplify / standardise the way we approach the record to record process
- Working collaboratively with teams across the UK Finance, Group Finance and Finance transformation to deliver process and system improvements for the UK business
Your characteristics:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA) or overseas equivalent
- Top 20 technical / audit experience
- Degree educated to 2:1 level and above
- Technically minded and aware of commercial considerations in business decisions
- Strong communication and influencing skills
- Strong understanding of UK GAAP
- Excellent organisation skills and multitasking abilities
