Finance Director - to £100k plus car, 50% bonus, private health & pension - Manchester

We are working with a FTSE250 business which is currently experiencing significant growth both via acquisition and organic means. With an established client base across the UK, this organisation delivers a portfolio of services to a wide-range of sectors. This substantial increase in activity in their market place has led to the creation of the role for a Finance Director to join their Manchester based operation to partner with the Managing Director to maximise the success of these recent strategic developments.

The Role

The role of Finance Director will be critical to the on-going drive for divisional growth and maximisation of revenue from various service lines. This individual will partner closely with the current executive team, including the Divisional MD and UK Finance Director, to deliver on long-term revenue plans and customer service level agreements. The successful candidate must have excellent commercial negotiation experience, with a strong client engagement skills, able to unlock the potential for lines of business over the next 3-5 years.

Key areas of expertise for the Finance Director will include:

• Full P&L ownership of a multi-million pound division
• Establishing and developing a highly-skilled team of direct reports
• Working with the UK commercial team to ensure the business maximises revenue opportunities
• Managing the budgeting & forecasting process including the introduction innovative analysis tools
• Establishing the key areas of performance and service delivery targets
• Presenting results and insightful analysis on various aspects of financial reporting, both to local management and the Head Office Exec teams
• Partnering with client representatives across a variety of sectors, including construction, civil engineering and technology, to ensure agreed contract delivery parameters are met and future business development potential is maximised
• Identification and development of areas for improvement and cost management across finance & commercial management
• Full responsibility for income reporting, billing and working capital management

The Candidate

The Finance Director we seek will have a large company background, with an ability to manage information and demands from multiple sources, both internally and from external parties. A formal accountancy qualification, with strong academics, will be highly-regarded, along with an ability to manage and engage with a wide variety of stakeholders. The successful individual will have a proven track record with complex, acquisitive businesses, preferably with experience in liaising directly with high-profile customers and other strategic partners.
