Robert Half are working in partnership with Fresh to Store to recruit a Financial Controller to join their finance department, based at their headquarters in Swindon.
COMPANY:
After a successful MBO from Kerry Foods in 2015, Fresh to Store was created and it has already delivered sales growth from £84million to £110million in its quest to become a leading player within chilled food and drink distribution throughout Great Britain.
With a large fleet of top of the range chilled vans, they focus on selling chilled & fresh foods, the fastest growing category in the convenience marketplace.
The business is divided into Wholesale & Van Sales and key customers include Poundland & WH Smiths, with over 9000 other stores served every week from over 20 regional depots.
THE ROLE:
The Financial Controller is a critical and highly commercial position within the finance department.
This position partners with Board Members and other Senior Stakeholders and it is essential that this individual builds strong relationships with respective team members.
The role is responsible for leading all aspects of the financial operations of the Company and with that comes all the normal accountabilities for providing sound financial management and appropriate accounting, robust reporting and planning processes, cash forecasting and stakeholder management among others.
The breadth of the business activities adds complexity and challenge to these core responsibilities and it is essential that the FC is commercially aware and can help drive performance improvement.
An established team is in place for the Financial Controller to lead.
New ERP systems have been implemented and the ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate experience of implementing new processes and improving financial control.
This is a progressive role, which for the right individual could lead to being succession planned into FD/Board level within 2 to 3 years.
REQUIREMENTS:
· Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent)
· Retail/Distribution/Wholesale experience, preferable FMCG
· Ability to demonstrate good commercial awareness
· Ability to communicate with non-finance managers
· Knowledge of Microsoft AX would be advantageous

· Up to £80k - depending on experience
