Market leading global company require a qualified accountant to join them on a 12 month fixed term contract. 

AIN PURPOSE OF POSITION

Reporting to the UK SSC Manager the role is responsible for providing reporting and ensuring integrity of the UK financial accounts (across 5 legal entities), in-line with  Group policies, legal and tax obligations and external audit standards.

The role executes the monthly reporting process, coordinates good and common application of core procedures, manages statutory accounts and takes ownership of group reporting and statutory accounts of UK legal entities.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

The main responsibilities of the role are to:-

· Follow rules and procedures and ensure correct implementation of corporate accounting policies

· Support production sites in all Finance areas - working closely with the Site Financial Controllers

· Execute common month-end closing process for all UK sites

· Ensure no deviation from the UK chart of accounts, operating in-line with Group recommendations

· Report accurately at month-end – ensuring fully supported by the underlying figures in the

accounting system.

· Ensure that all journals requested by Financial Controllers are compliant with Group policy and are

accompanied with full supporting documentation

· Maintain balance sheet integrity through monthly reconciliations including payroll accounts

· Ensure correct reporting of fees from inter-co partners

· Ensure monthly inter-co reconciliations are performed and appropriate entries are posted

· Take ownership of complex financial projects in the UK such as restructuring, companies fusion,

liquidation, as and when necessary

· Account for deferred tax and pensions, in accordance with Head office procedures

· Keep up to date with any changes in UK legislation, accounting rules and tax legislation

· Work closely with internal control, external auditors and tax advisors to ensure compliance and

efficient completion of statutory and Group audits

· Respond in a timely manner to Finance related queries from Sites, Divisions, or Group

· Keep plant financial controllers up to date with changes in budget ( tax, insurance, pensions and

such)

· Assist and lead projects and tasks as guided by the UK SSC Manager.

SKILLS / ABILITIES

The ideal candidate will have/be:-

· Accounting degree and/or fully qualified to ACA, ACCA or CIMA level

· Proven experience within Finance/Accountancy and potentially within an audit environment

· Experience of similar multi-national industry (manufacturing preferred)

· Computer literacy at advanced level – excel, word

· High level of interpersonal and communication skills

· Able to work independently and as part of a team

· Strong reporting skills

· SAP experience preferred

· Good organisational skills

· A strong team-player who is highly motivated and willing to improve both themselves and the tasks

they are involved in

· 2nd language advantageous.
