Job Overview
£60,000 - £65,000
Overall responsibility for the UK reporting and Control team. This includes responsibility for the management of the production of the UK P&Ls and ensuring the overall integrity of the General Ledger.
Act as Finance lead on new business initiatives and continuous improvement projects that impact the team to ensure a high level of financial control.
Responsibilities
Ensuring timely production of the UK P&L and associated commentary. Oversight of the production of the monthly board packs.
Reviewing/approving journal entries, ensuring that journal entries are properly supported and authorized, managing intercompany relationships. Account analysis and reconciliation.Responsible for monitoring and analysing the applicable general ledger activity, ensuring account reconciliations are performed timely and reconciling items are accounted for on timely basis.
Direct and mentor accounting team. Managing day-to-day accounting operations while improving the accounting procedures and internal controls. Provide training and guidance to effectively manage their responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner. Work with the Finance Operations Manager to define performance targets and objectives and monitor employee performance.
Works closely with the Finance Operations Manager to implement the overall Finance Operations vision, strategy and objectives. Participating in continuous improvement initiatives within the UK reporting and control team process area and across the finance operations team as a whole. Proactively seek opportunities to improve service delivery.
Qualifications
- Graduate
- Qualification ACCA, ACA or similar
- 5 years+ General Ledger experience preferred
- Periodic reporting experience of multiple P&Ls
- Proven results with structured problem solving and continuous improvement,
- Strong knowledge of and practical experience with internal controls
- Experience developing and leading a group accounting professionals
- Solid technical accounting experience, particularly IFRS accounting rules
- Experience with integrated ERP and financial reporting systems
- Experienced with Microsoft Office tools
- Good organisation and time management skills in order to meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills, and willingness to liaise with different departments across the business
- Experience of working on and managing projects
