OVERVIEW
Amazing opportunity for a Part Qualified/QBE with strong finance experience to join a new and innovative company based in Slough. An exciting opportunity for a Financial Analyst to join the Finance team. The role involves supporting a wide range of activities including assisting with the preparation of the monthly management accounts & cashflow projections, data & variance analysis, supporting the forecasting and budgeting process and working with the business to understand financial performance.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Main Responsibilities
- To support the Finance team with the timely and accurate production of the monthly management reports, correctly reflecting the income, expenditure and balance sheet position to ensure control of the finances.
- Preparing monthly cost centre, variance analysis, forecasting and performance indicator reports.
- Enhancing the management accounts reports to include further ranges of Performance Indicators, both financial and non-financial systems development.
- Develop, facilitate and co-ordinate any identified improvements associated with new systems development specifically Agresso.
- Develop procedures, user guides and workflows for all finance related systems and ensure that these are kept up to date.
- To ensure integrity of the accounts, to include providing quality back up to journals, prepayments and accruals
- Support Treasury functions to include raising payments online, reviewing bacs payments, creating cash flow forecasts and providing daily cash reconciliations
- Work with non-finance managers and teams to ensure that all they fully understand how to follow agreed practices and procedures.
Experience
- Must have financial systems experience preferably Agresso including: being able to write reports, and developing reporting tools to provide financial information.
- Knowledge of key financial processes in Accountancy and must be able to use them to communicate effectively with Group Managers.
- Advanced excel skills with the ability to manipulate large volumes of data into suitable presentation format and draw appropriate conclusions
- Experience of presenting complex financial data to non financial management
- Experience of financial reporting in a service organisation
EDUCATION AND SKILLS
Requirements for the job
- Part Qualified accountant or QBE
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices and collection regulations
- Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
- Data entry skills
- Proficiency in payroll
- Hands-on experience in operating spreadsheets and accounting software
- Proficiency in Agresso desirable
- Customer service orientation and negotiation skills
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Experience in a commercial environment is essential
- Able to communicate effectively with both finance and non-finance colleagues, at all levels
- Good analytical skills and able to balance multiple priorities and meet (recurring financial) deadlines. Ability to work on monthly timeframes independently
- Process improvement skills/experience, open for change and actively supports our performance culture
- Able to present and influence effectively
