Seymour John are looking to recruit a Financial Reporting Accountant into a financial services business based in Birmingham. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified or QBE Accountant to join a high performing central function. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Regulatory Reporting Manager in all aspects of group reporting, alongside the provision of technical accounting expertise. In addition, the Reporting Accountant will be required to partake in cross function activities where a sound financial reporting influence is required.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Pro-actively support the business and contribute to delivery of Group objectives while delivering accurate, timely, relevant information and appropriate interpretation. 
  • Preparation of all Regulatory Reporting returns ensuring compliance with regulatory updates. 
  • Completion of all reconciliations and controls supporting regulatory Reporting Returns. 
  • Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual  and other regulatory reporting. 
  • Responsible for cost schedules & fees including forecasts
  • Update and maintaining finance process, procedures & policy documentation and systems process flows for all regulatory reporting
  • Monthly Group consolidation reporting & reconciliation and preparation of Group and subsidiary statutory accounts at year end and half year.
  • Liaison with Technical accounting team to keep up to date with financial and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Contribute to internal/external audit processes.
  • Strong general ledger experience.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel.
  • Technical knowledge, FCA regulations, IFRS, VAT, Tax.
  • Detailed knowledge of Financial Services regulatory reporting process and Statutory Accounts production.
  • Financial Services experience desirable.
  • Proven strong financial control and reconciliations experience
  • ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified preferred
