Robertson Bell Finance are proud to be exclusively partnered with the Duke of Edinburgh's Award (the DofE) in their search for a Director of Finance and HR to be based at their head office in Windsor, Berkshire. The DofE has approximately 210 employees and an annual turnover of circa £14m with over 40,000 volunteers.

The Duke of Edinburgh's Award (the DofE) is a UK charity that makes a big difference to young people's lives. Over 300,000 young people per year from every possible background take part in the DofE programme to broaden their horizons, develop their leadership skills, learn to work with others, volunteer in their local communities, increase their employability, and prove to themselves they can succeed at a serious challenge.

This is an exciting time to join the DofE as the charity is undergoing significant development in many areas and is embarking on a major growth strategy. Duties include:

*Providing sound financial advice to the Board of Trustees, Committees, Chief Executive, and Strategic Leadership team in line with meeting strategic goals
*Continuous work in monitoring business development strategies and plans to ensure an effective approach to income generation and sustainability
*Specific responsibility for financial and HR activities, providing leadership to the accounting and HR teams and for the financial support of the charity's distribution operation
*Providing oversight, development and management to the charity's financial management function and take responsibility for the external audit process including compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements
*Continually developing the efficiency and quality of Finance and Human Resources teams which is made up of a team of six in finance and five in HR.

This is a really exciting time to be joining an organisation at a key stage in their development but more importantly one that has big ambitions for the future. The successful candidate will hold a recognised accountancy qualification and have a track record in creating and leading high performing teams, delivering complex systems, process and change programmes. The ability to implement new strategies and improve processes efficiently and effectively is essential as the new Finance Director will lead on identifying pragmatic solutions for the organisation that can be developed and sustained. Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills are essential. The DofE welcome applications from those working in both the commercial and not for profit sectors.
