As a result of continued growth and movement within the team there is an opportunity for an aspiring Financial Controller to join Amplience, a cloud-based technology firm in London.

Amplience are a VC backed technology firm that supports leading retailers with their e-commerce platforms. They offer “content as a service” which helps to improve the customer experience when shopping online across a range of devices. Within the market they are unique as a purely cloud-based provider which has seen them grow between 40-75% in the past few years. In line with this growth the CFO has been developing the finance function and now has a requirement for a Financial Controller.

Detailed Job Description

As the Financial Controller for Amplience you will be tasked with managing the day-to-day of the function, leading the team, and supporting the CFO with project work. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Ownership for internal reporting, including management of month end with preparation of accurate and insightful commentary;
  • Produce the monthly forecast and departmental budgets by liaising with non-financial stakeholders;
  • Ensure all transactional, VAT, and payroll requirements are met through work-flow management of the team and involvement in some tasks;
  • Management of a 13 week cash-flow forecast;
  • Acting as the key point of contact for the year-end audit;
  • Continually driving process improvements and efficiencies, with a particular view to increasing automation through supporting ERP implementation;
  • Ad hoc reporting and analysis as required to support the CFO.

Candidate's Profile

As a strong applicant for the Financial Cotroller role at Amplience you will:

  • Be an ACA qualified accountant (top tier preferred) with a demonstrably strong academic background;
  • Show exposure to managing the month end close and producing accurate commentary;
  • Demonstrate a lead role in the budgeting/forecasting process, including engagement with non-financial stakeholders;
  • Possess a strong technical background and be comfortable liaising with the auditors;
  • Have a “hands on” approach and be comfortable working at both a senior and transactional level;
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills to be able to manage as well as build relationships at all levels of the business.

What's on offer

The offer to the successful Financial Controller will be between £60,000-£70,000 depending on experience plus benefits including up to 20% bonus, pension contribution, and life assurance.
