Statutory Reporting Manager

£60,000-£70,000

The Statutory Reporting Manager will have responsibility for leading the production of the Group annual report and accounts, quarterly interim reporting and subsidiary statutory accounts. Additionally, you will provide technical support for accounting and reporting matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for leading the planning & preparation of all annual statutory accounts, and quarterly external reporting to agreed deadlines, including stakeholder management required to deliver the additional reports for the Group’s glossy accounts
  • Primary responsibility for engagement with external audit, planning and timing of audit work and managing the interaction with the delivery of statutory reporting
  • Responsible for drafting papers for the Group CFO, Audit and Risk Committee and External Auditors on the key areas of judgement used within the statutory accounts
  • Provision of technical expertise in preparation of analysis & reporting under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), in particular IAS39 and IFRS9
  • Workstream leader for applicable finance projects, e.g. the IFRS9 project.  This would include engagement with Credit Risk, Project and other Finance teams to ensure delivery
  • Responsibility for the performance management and development of a statutory accountant, plus providing additional support to the financial control and management information teams on technical and statutory reporting matters
  • Management of senior stakeholders around the group, liaising directly with:
  1. The Group CFO in explaining key areas of the Group’s annual reporting,
  2. The Group CEO and other senior management in developing the ‘front-end’ reports for the group’s glossy accounts
  3. Other senior members of the Finance management team
  4. The external auditors both in planning the audit and addressing technical issues

Essential skills

  • Qualified ACA or similar with experience in producing group and multiple subsidiary accounts
  • Highly organised and efficient with an ability to work under pressure and deliver to agreed deadlines
  • IFRS knowledge and IAS39/IFRS9 financial instruments experience
  • Strong communication, collaboration and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong focus on the quality of work with attention to detail
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office products

Desirable skills

  • Experience in producing accounts using One Source
  • Experience in Coda Financials
  • Experience with producing statutory reporting for listed companies, within a Bank or financial services business
  • Experience with derivatives and hedge accounting
