Based across 8 sites, 6 manufacturing facilities and 2 distribution centres, Marley Eternit have experienced significant success in recent years; increasing profit on the bottom line, further adding to their group through new acquisitions and continuing to develop their already strong brand name in the market. With a strategy to further increase brand awareness and continue recent growth, the business has highlighted the need to recruit a well-rounded and high calibre Finance Director.

This pivotal role will form part of Marley Eternit leadership team and work with key stakeholders across the business in driving increased performance and delivery of the company strategy. The Finance Director will be responsible for the development and implementation of the financial plan which will in turn support the company’s continued success and strategic performance. In addition, the role has responsibility for planning, managing and controlling all financial related activities encompassing financial reporting, technical compliance, forecasting, business planning and property management.

Alongside the financial elements of the job role, the successful applicant will also have to become the face of finance out in the business and a valued business partner to the senior leadership and management teams company wide. Through the provision of financial challenge, advice, reporting and analytical information, the Finance Director will be tasked with encouraging optimal operational efficiency and performance and ensuring all divisional strategies are aligned.

This is a key hire for Marley Eternit and as such they will be looking for candidates who can demonstrate recent and relevant work experience of the following:

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders within both the senior leadership and management teams
  • Play an active role as part of the leadership team in the development of long/short term vision, strategy and business plans
  • Effective management of the finance function (including a Pensions team)
  • Analysis and presentation of financial implications of business activities, providing recommendations to enhance financial performance and business opportunities
  • Management of the budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting processes
  • Ownership of the financial results and associated reporting to Etex
  • Drive and focus to continually evaluate and improve processes, systems and controls across the business

Alongside the core responsibilities, the Finance Director will be expected to focus on a number of key objectives over the next 12 months. These objectives will include developing the reporting and management information available to the business, building a strong and trusted working relationship with Etex, successful delivery of adhoc group project work, support on investment and new business opportunities and gaining a detailed understanding of the pension scheme.

In addition to the technical skills, it is essential that all applicants can demonstrate a confident and diligent approach to their work, enabling them to effectively influence, engage and support stakeholders both within Marley Eternit and the wider Etex group.
